Shabbos Davening @ The Shul

Morning services by reservation only.

If you have not contacted Rabbi Cheski to reserve,

please contact rabbicheski@chabadwi.org.

A 30’ x 50’canopy tent has been erected to provide shade (the canopy tent has no walls)  to keep everyone as comfortable as possible. The cost of the tent installation and rental through August is approximately $3,860. If you would like to contribute to this cost, please click here.

We will continue to hold outdoor Shabbos morning davening, with the following amendments:

  1. Only the Ba’al Koreh (the one chanting the Torah) will receive aliyahs (in most cases)– this is in order to ensure proper social distancing, which is hard to maintain around the bimah.
  2. The Hebrew school bathroom will be available,  it is directly inside the building off the area where we will be davening (The rest of the building will remain closed.). Please spray all touch surfaces with the provided disinfectant spray after use, and wait 5 minutes in between users.
  3. A 30’ x 50’canopy tent will be erected to provide shade (the canopy tent has no walls)  to keep everyone as comfortable as possible. The cost of the tent installation and rental through August is approximately $3,860. If you would like to contribute to this cost, please visit www.shulcenter.org.
  4. 13+ year olds may attend without a parent, please remind them to stay seated during services and not leave to play or socialize.

Services will consist of a 10:00 prompt start time, with Torah reading and Musaf.

As stated previously, at this time there is still a risk of contracting the virus, and as such, there is NO HALACHIC REQUIREMENT to attend. Therefore, any individual who is not already leaving their homes for other reasons, or who may be at an elevated risk, should not consider attending.

The following previously established rules remain in place:

  • You must pre-register by 6:00 pm the Thursday before each Shabbos. Email rabbicheski@chabadwi.org, and wait for confirmation.
  • Seniors over the age of 65 – we strongly encourage you to stay home at this time. If you feel it is imperative to attend, we recommend discussing this with your healthcare provider.
  • No children under 13
  • All attendees MUST wear masks the entire time. Do not remove the mask to make blessings, kiss your tallis, or to speak more clearly to another congregant, etc.
  • Participants will be spaced 6 feet apart. Maintain a minimum of 6 feet distance from others at all times
  • Wash hands with liquid soap and water for 20 seconds immediately upon arriving (a sink will be set up inside the fence for handwashing). If you touch your face, hands sanitizer will be available near your seat.
  • Security will be taking the temperature of every attendee before they enter the fenced area.
  • Daven Shacharis at home and arrive promptly so we can begin reading the Torah immediately.
  • Bring your own Tallis. Siddurim will be set up on each seat.
  • No lingering at the end of services.
  • Security will be enforcing these rules, and failure to follow rules will result in security asking you to leave.
  • If you are not feeling well, PLEASE STAY HOME!
